My Bio
I consider photography a gift of the highest order. It thrills me to capture an image. It exhilarates me to contemplate my next challenge. What can I capture? How can I put my own stamp on a tired idea? Just thinking about the possibilities of my next shot makes me glad to be alive.
Photography is a three-stage process for me.
1. Find and capture the image
2. Shape it in post production (while always maintaining the integrity of the image)
3. Release it from all attachment to the process of its birth. This is my favorite time when I no longer look at it critically for flaws and can see it for what it is.

Discovering black and white photography was like finding some lost treasure. I got started with a camera relatively late in my life but it was a significant milepost on a path I had begun many years before.
For as long as I can remember music has been a large part of my life. Unlike anyone else I knew, I actually “saw” music. When I heard certain aural textures, images would be triggered in my mind. Particularly if I listened to music with multiple layers, be it Mozart or Simple Minds, I could see vast landscapes when I closed my eyes. The music was the soundtrack to these epic visions.
